Membership Assistance Program Grant
PURPOSEMembership Assistance Program (MAP) funding is provided by the Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Fund for Sport, Culture, and Recreation for distribution directly to member clubs/leagues of the Saskatchewan Team Handball Federation (STHF) to increase the number of participants and the quality of Team Handball development in Saskatchewan communities.
ELIGIBILITY
In order to receive MAP funds from the STHF you must be:
- A registered member club/league of the STHF;
- Be in good standing with the STHF; and
- Have a "club/league" bank account for financial activities.
Member clubs/leagues must fill out and submit the MAP Spending Plan form to the STHF by May 1st every year. Late applications will not be accepted.
The STHF Board of Directors will then use the following criteria to determine how much MAP funding each member club/league will receive.
- Number of registered junior/senior players in the club (1 point)
- Number of registered youth playes in the club (2 points)
- Number of registered cadet and mini players in the club (2 points)
- Number of certified coaches in the club (1 point)
- Number of trained coaches in the club (0.5 points)
- Number of certified officials in the club (1 point)
Once notification has been received by the member clubs/leagues, they must fill out and submit the MAP Follow-Up form, and attach copies of all receipts and/or other documentation to verify the expenditures indicated on the form were incurred. Receipts and/or other documentation collected by the STHF to verify expenditures were incurred can take various forms but should at a minimum:
- Indicate name of recipient (person or business) of the funds;
- Describe goods and/or services provided for payment;
- Disclose the amount of the payment;
- Include the date that the goods/services were purchased (must be between Oct. 1st-Sept. 31st); and
- Include third party verification (supplier logo on an invoice, signature of the recipient on an expense claim, or in the rare case where there is no other backup documentation, a copy of the cheque, with the bank clearing stamp on the back.).
Once the STHF has determined that all documentation was filled in correctly and copies of all receipts and/or other documentation were included, the STHF will then dispurse funds to the member clubs/leagues. Member clubs/leagues are required to acknowledge and publicize that the support received from the Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Fund for Sport, Culture, and Recreation is derived from the proceeds of lottery tickets in Saskatchewan.
